Explore

Explore our extensive estate woodlands. Our 200-year-old Arboretum Quarry Wood (15 acres) and North Park Wood (over 40 acres) – a heritage ancient woodland – are some of the oldest woodlands in the area. With stunning trees, and plenty of wildlife our woodlands truly are magical. In the spring, enjoy a floor of colour with bluebells and daffodils and in the autumn, revel in the bright orange hues!  Wonderful walks await to de-stress, exercise your pet or enjoy picnics with the children.

Roam

With over 80 acres to roam freely, you’ll find walks galore at Blaithwaite. All our paths are separated from farm stock and interconnect between our woodlands. Bring all generations of the family together, including the dog (on/off lead), and escape for a while in our glorious countryside.

There are areas for a picnic and plenty to keep the little ones interested, our nature passports help unlock the wonders of nature.

Get involved

Take part in our two free annual membership days where we will host guided woodland walks and estate conservation activities. They are a chance for you to learn more about the estate grounds, our history and to get your hands dirty by taking part in some woodland restoration including planting, clearing and habitat making! Keep an eye on our events page to find out more.

Estate Days

Picnic & Play

When the sun is shining, why not come down and enjoy a picnic? There is plenty of space! We’ve got lots of fun activities on the estate too, including a play park, crazy golf and giant chess in our Orchard Garden, all free of charge.

Events

Throughout the year we host a range of events including our famous Halloween Spooky Spectacular, Easter days and our Christmas Courtyard. Your membership will entitle you to 10% off all of our events here are Blaithwaite.

Eat

Come and enjoy our cafe and farm shop (opening Summer 2022) for a post-walk warmer or ‘just because we love cake’. All of our produce is local and our menu is seasonal. Your membership will entitle you to 5% off throughout the year, plus our teatime 10’s card – meaning every 10th cuppa is on us!  Open weekends and all holiday periods.

How does your membership help?

Arrive, Enjoy, Make Memories.

Your support via our Blaithwaite Estate Membership will help to ensure that we can continue our conservation efforts and the restoration of our ancient woodlands, for the benefit of all our members and environment.

Our aim is to increase biodiversity, rewild other areas on the estate and to ensure that the estate grounds can be a haven for wildlife. We want the estate to be here for the future generations of our community and all of our conservation work will contribute towards this. When you join, we’ll send you a quarterly newsletter keeping you up-to-date on our conservation progress, estate events and nature news! Our child-friendly Nature Passports will be issued twice per year, featuring seasonal changes.

The funds will also help us to keep our estate open to the public, provide all the insurance that we need to keep us all safe, the making and upkeep of pathways and walks, nature information boards and help us host our on-site activities. It will allow us to keep everything up-to-date so that whenever you visit, you’ll have a wonderful time. We want to continue to share our wonderful estate with you.
