Expanding our offering

Our Estate is expanding!

We are finally able to fill you in on what’s been happening on the estate!

From new accommodation, memberships, eating and drinking and more.

New accommodation

We are really excited to let you all know that we have now added two new types of lodges to our already diverse range of accommodation options. Two woodland lodges, able to accommodate up to four people each, will open on the 1st of April. The contemporary, open-plan lodges will each have a large living space, kitchen diner area, two impressive bedrooms and will benefit from huge amounts of natural light and surrounding countryside.

An additional hexicabin, named Cedar Cottage, accommodating two people, will combine cottage cosiness with cabin charm making it perfect for romantic getaways. Built from cedar combined with wood from the Estate, the bespoke designed, British built cabin will have a pitched roof and a small patio area. The inside will be bright and spacious with a high ceiling and modern country-style interiors including a warming log fire. The hexicabin will be openening in May.

Each lodge will come with its own private enclosed area complete with a hot tub and views across the Solway.

Cafe and farm shop to open soon

We are delighted to announce that our cafe and farm shop will officially be opening on the 27th May.

Open to both staying guests and day visitors, both the cafe and farm shop will showcase the abundance of quality produce and ingredients from around Cumbria.

The farm shop, which will be open from 9am until 4pm throughout school holidays and weekends and will support local and independent suppliers from lesser-known areas of the county stocking butchery (including BBQ packs), eggs, fresh milk and seasonal vegetables from surrounding farms, charcuterie from Stonehouse Smokery and cheese from Torpenhow Cheese alongside guest essentials and take home baked treats.

An impressive selection of local beers and spirits will also be available including Tirril Brewery, The Tractor Shed Brewing Company, Hawkshead Brewery, The Lakes Distillery and Tipsy Filly.

The cafe, which will be open from 9am until 3pm on weekends and school holidays will use the local ingredients available to buy in the farm shop to create delicious, fresh and seasonal dishes. The relaxed menu will be full of wholesome, unfussy dishes which will showcase some of the country’s best ingredients including homemade breakfast bites, freshly baked pastries, afternoon bakes, and light lunches with seasonal soups and hearty sandwiches.

Our casual cafe, with wood-clad interiors, will offer a rustic, homely atmosphere that fits seamlessly into its rural surroundings with muddy boats and pets welcome.
